Closure: A New Year’s Eve Acrostic

2020 hasn’t been a favorite year for many people and for many reasons. But we made it!

And now we can move forward.

I am thankful for so much about 2020. There are other things I am looking forward to leaving behind.

With closing out the year in mind, I wrote this acrostic of scriptures that we can use to help us let go of the past, overcome difficulty, and find comfort, joy and peace to get us through each day of 2021.

Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be [b]perfect and complete, lacking nothing. James 1:2-4

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and your neighbor as yourself. Luke 10:27

Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21

Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things (your needs) will be added to you. Matthew 6:33

Use whatever gift you’ve received for the good of one another so that you can show yourselves to be good stewards of God’s grace in all its varieties. 1 Peter 4:10 (VOICE)

Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:18-19

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and bless His name. Psalm  100:4 ESB
